Description

What if other species had the power to absorb minerals from a planet?

My idea here was to create a scene were you can see the devestating results of harvesting resources from other planets, where chunks of minerals have been removed because of species that use more than they can produce. So they move to atealing or looting other nearby planets.

I was in my destructive mood again, so this one is more of a test on destructive themed pictures and techniques more than anything else.

So here it is, hope you like it and i wish a happy holiday for everyone and a happy new year:D

Hi,
I'm also a fan of space scenes and I just wanted to point out these things because it could help you in the future for the next spacescapes.
Pros:
- good quality for the planet (rendered?) - if painted yourself you, artist, you!
- nice color pallete choise
- nice little details like the rays of light hitting the planet from the "spaceships" makes a bigger brighter print on the surface at the hit point
-
cons:
- image lighting is not making this pic "real": the middle star is illuminating the distant planet in the lower left hemisphere, but the bigger planet is illuminated in the center => I'd try to put some light in the middle of the distant planet to simulate lighting from 2 different suns.
- the contrast is too big between the black sky and bigger planet making the contour tooooo visible (kinda see the copy-paste planet in this scene) => you could blur a little the margins of the planet and use the sponge tool to simulate a little light reflected by the planet surface arround it (depending from where the light is coming )

I rated
5s for Vision (because every materialised idea counts)
5s for Originality (every work is original, unless is a copy)
3s for Technique (pros/cons)
3s for Impact (first look is "Wow", second is "Is that...?")

Keep it up!
